RECYCLING - Why recycling?
Unfortunately, it is not a secret that in Costa Rica, we did not offer the appropriate education concerning recycling, to our population. We produce daily, around 11 tons of garbage from which 300 tons ends up in rivers and uncultivated lands, 80% of this waste could have been recycled or reused.
Taking this information into consideration, we can confirm that recycling is one of the activities helping to resolve part of the problems caused for those millions of tons of solid garbage produced daily. This is the reason why we decided to start a waste management education program, for our personnel as well as our guests. This is the way we wish to become aware of the fact that we can save large amounts of non renewal natural resources like oil, carbon and metals; we also save time and money in the production of new products. This project consists in classifying garbage to be placed in well identified containers for plastic, paper and glass. We work hard to see this project enriching Costa Rican values and becoming our business commitment.
We are also providing training to our employees as well as interested people from our surrounding communities, to create awareness of the importance of recycling, always focused in a clean environment to our future generations.
